Rocky Point began as a shrimping and fishing town but it is just beginning to experience a tourism boom. Whether you are traveling as a couple, with your family, a group of friends or a corporate group, there is no shortage of fun activities in Rocky Point. Here is but a small sampling. There are many quaint shops and local artisans to visit. You will certainly enjoy dining at the many restaurants. For great Mexican food try Perico Marinero, La Curva or Sonoran Grill. For New Mexican-style Mexican food, Hacienda Las Fuentes is wonderful. We love Asadero Guss for tacos and video games. You will find great Italian food at Portofino (oceanfront) and amazingly, even wonderful Kansas City barbeque at J.R.'s Saloon. (Don't miss J.R.'s friday night all-you-can-eat fish fry). Take a relaxing sunset cruise on the Sea of Cortez on the Pura Vida catamaran. Play all day on Sandy Beach or in an oceanfront heated swimming pool! Rent quads and explore the sand dunes. Get a massage or the world's greatest pedicure at the wonderful La Spa De Penasco in Sonoran Spa Resort. Visit the aquarium and feed the giant sea turtles and sea lions. Our other favorite resort is Sonroan Sun Resort, where we have two-bedroom condo East 408. Sonoran Sun is luxurious and the condos are a bit larger than the other Sonoran properties. An on-site convenient store, fitness center, art gallery and business center certainly meets all your needs. The El Catorce restaurant at the Sun offers outstanding daily breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Most weekends the restaurant brings in live entertainment. Above the restaurant is a sports lounge complete with plasma TV's and games. The Sun also has facilities to host large parties, family reunions, weddings and business retreats.
